Performs a wide variety of duties in the Plant Operations and engineering field. Provides basic abilities to perform mechanical duties for the hospital. Performs preventative maintenance assignments. This is an unlicensed engineering position. Assists Mechanics II and III as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read schematics or other engineering/maintenance background is preferred. Must be able to understand basic mechanicals, electrical, plumbing and HVAC. Must be able to read and write English. Must be able to safely handle power equipment.

Will provide on-the-job training. Excellent customer service skills required.

Current California State Drivers license.  Must be 21 years of age or older; must have two (2) years of continuous driving experience in the state of California. If a license is suspended, the experience record begins from the time of license reinstatement; must have no major convictions (ie DUI/DWI, hit and run, driving w/suspended license, reckless driving, eluding police, open containers, exhibition of speed (racing), negligent driving); must have no more than one (1) moving citation in a three (3) year period; must have no more than one (1) at- fault accident in a three (3) year period. Accidents will be considered at- fault unless evidence is provided (ie police report and/or letter from insurance company) showing the incident as not at-fault.
