Provides patient transportation and assists nursing with patient handling tasks as requested. Other responsibilities may include dispatch, cleaning equipment and rooms, and stocking of supplies. Accepts patient medications from pharmacy or tube station and gives directly to the charge nurse or assigned nurse. Transports medications and requests to and from Pharmacy/Nurse on a non-routine basis when necessary.
No specific diploma/degree requirements. Recent surgery exp. in a acute setting. Bls. Must have the ability to communicatre effectively with hospital staff and ability to apply, organize and oversee multiple tasks/responsibilities. Excellent customer service skills required.
Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) required, preferably by American Heart Association. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required within 3 months of hire (CVMC only). Current Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) training is acceptable until initial renewal is due at which time CPI training is required. Training is renewed annually (cert. expire end of month in which training takes place).
